Frédéric Chopin wrote these Preludes between 1835 and 1839 and it was the first example of the term ‘Prelude’ not being used to describe an introductory piece.

Some people suggest that they were intended to be played one after the other as a whole collection, but others suggest that they are meant to stand alone or introduce other pieces.

  • How mobile versions work

The mobile version comes as a single PDF file that can be downloaded and viewed on any portable device. This 'Standard' option has equal margins on both sides which make it ideal to be viewed digitally (or printed and used in plastic wallets).

If you plan on printing the score out to hole punch or bind, consider downloading the 'Digital version' instead which comes with the 'Standard' option and two additional options which are more suited to this. See our FAQ for more details and examples.

Covid-19 update:

In order to ensure the safety of our customers and everyone else involved during the process, we will not be delivering any of our Spiral Scores until the situation improves. You can still purchase any of our Spiral Scores during this time, but they will not be delivered until it has been decided that it is safe to do so.

Our Digital and Mobile scores are unaffected and are still available to purchase and download.
