Robert Schumann composed Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood) in 1838 and originally wrote 30 pieces for the collection before choosing these final 13. The rest were later published in two other collections: 'Bünter Blätter' and 'Albumblätter'.

Schumann told his wife, Clara, that her comment that he sometimes seemed like a child were what inspired these pieces.

  • How digital versions work

The digital version comes as a zip file containing 3 options:

    - 'Standard' has equal margins. This is suited for digital use or to be printed and used in plastic wallets.

    - 'Single sided' has larger inside margins on the same side of each page. This is suited to being printed single-sided and hole punched or binded.

    - 'Double sided' has larger inside margins on alternating sides. This is suited to being printed double-sided and hole punched or binded.

Due to issues with opening zip files on portable devices, we also offer a separate mobile version which just consists of the 'Standard' option to be downloaded and viewed easily.
